Revisions/additions to text in Port 3C (Housing Plan) as approved by City Council <br />on September 24, 2001. <br />Re-guiding of Brovin Road/flighway 1 2 senior housing site from Commercial to <br />Residential in Part 3B (Land Use Plan); and <br />WHEREAS, on October 24, 2001 the MeUopolitan Council formally granted <br />approval of the 2000-2020 CMP as revised, making the following findings and conclusions: <br />1.TheCity of Orono ’s Comprehensive Plan meets all Metropolitan Land Planning Act <br />requirements for 1 998 plan updates. <br />The Plan is inconsistent with the Regional Growth Strategy. However, due to <br />previou.s negotiations with the City tliat established limited sewer capacity, urban <br />development is not expected to occur in the area designated in the Regional Growth <br />Strategy as Urban Reser>'e, and therefore it is not a system departure. <br />The Plan is in conformity with the metropolitan system plans for Aviation, Recreation <br />Open Space, Transportation and Wastewater Services. <br />The housing element of Orono's Comprehensive Plan is consistent with regional <br />housing policy. <br />Orono*s Comprehensive Plan is generally compatible with the plans of adjacent <br />governmental units and the school districts; and <br />WHEREAS, on October 3 1,2001 the Metropolitan Council indicated to the City via <br />letter that the 2000-2020 CMP as revised may be placed into effect upon formal adoption by the City <br />Council. <br />Page 2 of 3
