Both the addition <br />and entry way are w ithin 150* of a Natural Environment lake. <br />The proposed garage will be located over existing driveway. T he applicant is proposing to remove <br />approximately 800 s.f of driveway (hat will no longer be needed. The existing garage will be turned <br />into a sc reen porch, office, laundry room and storeroom. <br />The lot was developed in 1979 prior to the adoption of the Shorcland Ordinance (1992). The <br />Shoreland Ordinance created a 150* structure setback from -rcnch Lake, whereas only a 26* wetland <br />setback was required before 1992. French Lake was consi Jcr«-I a.s merel; a wetland before it was <br />redesignated as a Natural Environment Lake by the ShoreL.id Ordinance. I he ordinance was <br />adopted by Council with the understanding it would create non-conforming lots in the French Creek <br />Subdivision. The subject property owner’s house now eniroaches into the required 150* setback. <br />1. Section 10.56.
