Off-street prking facilities cssor> to <br />residential use shall be utilued solely for the parking of passenger automobiles. No motor <br />vehicle over 7.000 pounds' gross capacitv and no comir.erciallv licensed uailer shall be <br />parked or stored in a residential disuici c ..ept when leading, unloading or rendering a <br />service; except that one such vehicle ma\ be parked at the residence of the owner or <br />operator of the vehicle. Under no circumstances shall parking facilities accessory to <br />residential structures be used for open-air storage of commercial vehicles nor for open-air <br />parking for business purposes of automobiles belonging to the employees, owner, tenant <br />or customers of business or manufacniring establishments other than the home <br />occupation permitted for that property. <br />Sec. 78-1577. Exterior storage in R dUlricts. <br />In all R districts, all mobile materials and equipment shall be stored within a <br />building or fully screened so as not to be visible from adjoining properties, except that <br />utility trailers less than 20 feet in length, which are not stored for commercial purposes, <br />need not be screened when stored to the rear of the house a.nd a distance 5 feet or more <br />from any property line and 15 feet or more from the principal residence structure on an> <br />adjacent lot. Boats, unoccupied K^at trailers, and boats on trailers shall be subject to the <br />following storage requirementr, when not stored for commercial purposes: <br />Licensing, operahilitx anJ restorations boats stored outside on a <br />residential property shall be licensed to the owner or occupant of the <br />property. All boats stored on a property shall be in operable condition, <br />v.icept that inoperable boats under actixe restoration may be stored on a <br />property for not more than two years, the intent being to discourage the <br />longterm storage of inoperable boats on residential property <br />Principal residence required No boat shall be stored on a property or on a <br />group of contiguous commonly owned properties that does not contain a <br />principle residence structure. <br />Maximum length Boats and unoccupied coat trailers exceeding 30 feet in <br />length shall not be stored m any residential property except within a fully <br />enclosed building meeting all applicable zoning and building code <br />standards. Exception: Existing boats oxer 30 feet in length xvhich are <br />documented to have been stored on the property within the 24 months <br />prior to the elTective date of the ordina.nce from xxnich this section is <br />derived sha.« be allowed to continue such storage practice until the <br />propeny is sold, and shall meet the setback requirements of this section <br />(4) Allowed storage locations Boats and u.-.occupied boat trailers up to 30 <br />feet in length may be stored outside on residential property as follows:
