September IS. 2003 <br />6:00 o'clock p.m. <br />ROLL <br />The Commission met on the above mentioned date with the follow ing members present: <br />Chair Sandra Smith. Commissioners David Rahn, J. Mark Fntzler. Jeanne Mabusth. <br />Cynthia Bicmer. Liz Haw n, and Stephanie Zugschw ert. Representing staff w ere Planning <br />Director Mike Gaflron. Planners Melanie Foth and Janice Waauja. Recorder Kristi <br />Anderson and City Council liaison Jim Wltitc. <br />Chair Smith called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />(»l) #03-2935 SCOTT AND KARA HLTTON, 1135 SH.\DY1^'OOD ROAD. <br />VARIANCE <br />Ma bUli Mved, Hawn seconded. In table ApfHcatloo #03-2935, Scott and Kara <br />Notion, 1S35 Shadywood Road, to the October meeting at the rcqnest of staff. <br />VOTE: Ayes 7, Nays 0. <br />(#2) #03-2939 PETE AND MAXINE THORKELSON, 440 BIG ISLAND, <br />CONDITION AL USE PERMIT <br />Mabnstb moved, Hawn seconded, to recommend Approval of AppNcalion #03-2939, <br />Pete and Maiine Tborkeboo, 440 Big Island, a reqnest for a Conditional Use Permil <br />to allow septic system improvements in street right of way provided the following <br />conditions arc met: The applicant acknowledges that placement of septic sys.cm <br />connection pipes within the right-of-way b at their own rbk and the appikaat shall, <br />prior to plaMmcnl of improvemenb whhln the right-of-way, esccnic a hold harmless <br />agreement which releases, lademnHIes and holds harmless the CHy and the pnblic <br />from any and all claims or eanses of action arising ont of the nsc or alteration of the <br />platted right-of-way by applicant and their Invitees. \'OTE: Ayes 7, Nays 0. <br />(#3) #03-2949 DOUG OLSON AND BARB BOWERS, 2601 WEST LAFAYETTE <br />ROAD, VARIANCE <br />hlabnsth moved, Hawn seconded, to recommend Approval of Application #03-2949, <br />Dong Oboo and Barb Bowers, 2601 West Lafayette Road, granting an average <br />lakcshore setback variance for constmetioB of a 2*^ story addition above exbting <br />living space on a borne sitnated approihnatdv 90* into the average lakcshore setback. <br />VOTE: Ayes 7, Nay^ 0. <br />PAGE I of 25
