May 19,2003 <br />6:00 o’clock p.m. <br />(#9 M)3-2896 BRUCE BOEDER ON BEHALF OF FRANCISCUS BASTIAENS,----- <br />COMtiDHCd) <br />With regard to the septic. GalTron indicated that the City was concerned how the old seoUc <br />might impact the septic for the new residence. <br />Boeder staled that, as an engineer, Mr. Bastiaens was willing to take the risk and was <br />comfortable with the old septic. <br />Hawn moved, Rahn seconded, to deny Appileatiun ff03-2896, Franciscus Bastiaens <br />665 North Fcmdale Road, a request for a Gnest House CUP and variance to the lot <br />dbseitilg*"”**** Nays 3, Chair Smith. Bremer, and Zugschwert <br />^“Kwhwert seconded, to recommend approval of Application «03- <br />2896, Franciscus Bastiaens, 665 North Ferndale Road, a request for a Guest House <br />CUP and variance to the lot area requirement, subject to staff recommendations, <br />cscept that the applicant be aiionid to utiliie the existing septic system; and that a <br />two year sunset date and financial arrangement behveen the applicant and the City <br />Attorney be agreed upon. VOTE; Ayes 2, Nays 3, Hawn, Rahn, and Chair Smith <br />dissenting. <br />Chair Smith moved, to recommend approval of Application MI3-2896, Franciscus <br />Bastiaens, 665 North Ferndale Road, a request for a Guest House CUP and variance <br />to the lot area requirement, subject to staff recommendatloos except that the <br />applicant be allowed to utllixe the existing septic s>^tem; and that a one year sunset <br />date and financial arrangement between the applicant and the Cll> Atlornev be <br />agreed upon. Motion failed for lack of a second. <br />AfiCT three failed motions. Gaffron indicated that the application would move forward to <br />the City Council for their recommendation. <br />Mra. Buliacns voiced her fhisiralion wih the City that her 6 acre property had been <br />Mrs. Wi.ittington. the applicant, was present. <br />a variance to permit construction of a <br />d^k and stairs 5 in lieight onto the existing home, requiring 5,596 s f (41 56V*) hard <br />within the 75 ’ to 250 ’ setback zone where 3,366 s.f.
