Plummer <br />Subdivision, of Lot 2 Ketchcl's Subdivision of Government Lots 5 and <br />6, Section 22, Township 117, Range 23, City of Orono, Hennepin County, <br />Minnesota. <br />Enclosed Is a half section map identifying the above-described <br />property. <br />On March 8, 1978, the District's Board of Commissioners established <br />boundaries for Big Island Regional Park. The proposed park will be <br />located entirely on the eastern island. At the same time, tlie <br />District's Board of Commissioners declared the existing land holding <br />on the western island as surplus and authorized the Superintendent to <br />petition the District Court for approval to sell this property. District <br />Court approval has been obtained and we are proceeding to put together <br />a transaction for the sale of this property. The sale of this parcel <br />is tied directly to the District's purchase of a parcel located within <br />the park acquisition boundaries. <br />In order to combine Lots 1 through 10 of Kate B. Plummer Subdivision <br />into a single marketable building site, the District hereby requests <br />the City of Orono to vacate the platted roadswithin the subdivision. <br />Enclosed is a completed land use application form, a map depicting <br />the plat, a certified property owners list of owners within 300 feet, <br />a petition of concurrence from the abutting land owner and stamped <br />pre-addressed envelopes. <br />We hope to be able to proceed with this vacation at your earliest <br />convenience in order to meet a property closing date of on or before <br />October i, 1978.
