#3S’0
1
TO;Henry F. Muhlch, Zoning Administrator
FROM;A. P. Olson, Asst. Zoning Administrator
DATE;March 16, 1978
SUBJECT; Stubbs Bay Marina
The attached letter received from the DNR requests City
action or response before April 9, 1978 concerning revision
of the dock layout and dredging application pending before
the City and the DNR.
The Issue is whether or not the City would consider rezoning
a small portion of the adjacent residential area to facilitate
dock rearrangement in lieu of dredging or whether dredging
will be permitted at all regardless of resulting dock layout.
The proposed layout is similar to one submitted in a letter
from Mr. McCleary's attorney, received 12-22-77. The Planning
Commission last reviewed the dredging appli.catlon on 8-15-77.
STAFF - March 21, 1978
This item should be addressed by the Planning Commission on
March 27, 1978 and will be on the Council agenda for March 30.
COUNCIL - March 30, 1978
James McCleary present.
Coiincll reviewed the status of this property and the several options
available;
1)
2)
3)
4)
no authorized changes - loss of slips due to siltation
rezonlng of residential parcel to allow 66 water slips without
dredging
dredging of commercial dock use area for full 66 slips
dredging of a 30 ft. channel to the launch ramp with 66 slips
allowed either wet or dry as available, but no other dredging
or rezoning
w
Staff instructed to reply to DNR that City does have relevant
objections to rezoning and that there appears to be an option
available (dry stacking) which will preclude the requirement for
general harbor dredging.
-..'J
i
■I
