MINNESOTA 55430
TELEPHONE (612) 561-5440
April 2, 1975
Mrs. Sue Dunkley
Hew Horizons Nursery School
1200 69th Avenue North
Broo)clyn center, Minnesota 55430
Dear Mrs. Dunkley:
s
This is to confirm several discussions we have had as to the possi-
|)ilitios of establishing a formal licensed child care and day school
facility in Brooklyn Center. You have indicated an'interest in
constructing a freestanding building which would house this activity,
and you have expressed interest in securing possible state grants or
financing, which might be available.
We have indicated our endorsement of the concept of a well run,
properly licensed and designed child care and educational facility
as being integral to the variety of public services necessary to a
balanced cesnmunity^.
It is our observation that your Hew Horizons Nursery School, presently
located in one of the community's churches, is representative of such
a service.
We have consulted with you and your real estate representative as to
various sites in the City which, from the standpoint of -zoning and
location, %#ould be well suited to a facility such as you propose.
Based upon your testimony, it would appear that there is substantial
demand for a professional child care day school in Brooklyn Center
and we are prepared to work with you in the selection of an appropriate
site and in the review of your site and building plans, which as you
know, must be approved by the city Council.
If we can be of further assistance in your efforts to find an appro
priate location and to apply for available public funding, please
contact us.
Thank you for your inquiry
Sincerely,
^
Blair Tremere ^
Director of Planning and inspection
BT:11
■■'ii
1
_m.
