D.H.R. <br />1200 Varner Hoad <br />St. Paul I® 55106 <br />)«77 <br />VILLA'S OF ORONO <br />Subject: U4CD Recanaendations concerning the Issuance of <br />Ihredging Permits by Other Agencies, and Applying • <br />to the following Permits Specifically: <br />A^irkeland, Robert (Orono) <br />Ci—ly's Ilinnetonka Marina, Mai ^77-6446 <br />Lord Fletchers of the Lake <br />Middleton, Blake (Beephaven) <br />i^orth Star Marina, DHR #77-6329 <br />Smithtown Bay Association <br />The Lake Minnetonka Conservation District at its last regular <br />Board meeting, upon reconiDendations of its Unvironmental Cooj- <br />wishes to make the following recommendations concerning <br />the issuance of dredging permits on Lake liinnetonka, end <br />specifically affecting the applications above. <br />The 12‘XID Board of Directors xeccaaends that all dredging <br />permits, end partictdarly maintenance dredging permits on <br />Lake Minnetonka, be denied by the permit-granting agencies, <br />including the Minnehaha Creek V/atershed District, the <br />Minnesota Department of natural Resources, and the U. S. <br />Arin7 Cori)s of Engineers, unless it can be satisfactorily <br />demonstrated that: <br />1.Onshore erosion control facilities will be provided to <br />prevent ongoing siltation fXca surface runoff in ac­ <br />cordance with existing M.C.W.D. regulations. <br />2. Suction dredging will be used in lieu of clam dredging <br />iJherever possible. <br />3. Do cutting into beds or banks of the Like is included. <br />4.Inspection will be provided by qtialified M.C.V.D., <br />D.H.H. or CoB personnel during dredging operations to <br />insure permit craapliance, including but not necessarily <br />Prtnifd on Paper Made with Relucted Fibers <br />J
