REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />OCF 2 8 2002 <br />CITY OFuh ONO <br />DATE: October 28,2002 <br />ITEM NO: <br />Department Approval:, <br />Name Tom Kuehn <br />Title Finance Director <br />Administrator Reviewed:Agenda Section: <br />City Administrator's <br />Report <br />Item Description: <br />Public Hearing Regarding the Certification of Delinquent Utilities and <br />General Service Fees <br />Attaehments: (A) Resolution providing for the collection of delinquent sewer, water, <br />recycling program fees, septic inspection fees, and general scn ice fees. <br />(B) Assessment roll. <br />Each year the city certifies to the county, ail unpaid annual service eharges for the septic <br />inspection program, the unpaid recycling program fees, all delinquent sewer and water <br />accounts of $50.00 or more, and the delinquent general services fbr false alarm fees and <br />developers improvement fees, to be eollected with the following year's ta.xes. In addition <br />to the outstanding amounts delinquent, eight percent (8%) interest is added to all accounts <br />and an administrative fee is added to the septic accounts. At this time the total to be <br />assessed is $92,770.94 ineluding administrative fees. This amount will be deereiised by <br />any payments received up to the f .al payment date of November 27,2002. A copy of <br />the assessment roll is attached for your review. <br />State statutes require the City hold a public hearing regarding the assessment of these fees <br />prior to certifying the assessment roll to the County. Notices of the public hearing have <br />been sent to all delinquent properties. The hearing is an opportunity for property owners <br />to ask questions and provide comments regarding the proposed assessment. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Adoption of resolution providing for the collection of delinquent charges for the 2002 <br />sewer and water utility serv ices, the septic inspection program, the recycling program, the <br />false alarms, developers improvement fees, and other general service fees. <br />1 <br />t <br />U \Wct4 FOTfKrAlaino^aMWri ActioaOOOrCCJmoon'B
