Deciduous trees shall have a minimum caliper of lYi inches. Coniferous trees shall <br />be a minimum of six feet in height. Ornamental trees shall have a minimum caliper of 1 Yi <br />inches. <br />d) All site areas not covered by buildings, sidewalks, parking lots, driveways, trails, patios, <br />or similar hardsurface materials shall be covered with sod or an equivalent ground cover <br />approved by the city. This requirement shall not apply to site areas retained in a natural state. <br />A sprinkler system shall be installed in new landscaping areas. <br />f) Not more than 50 percent of the required number of trees shall be composed of one <br />species. The City shall maintain a list of prohibited species which shall not be used for <br />landscaping. <br />g) When it is determined by the City that the amount of screening provided by the <br />requirements noted above does not adequately address screening and/or is not compatible with <br />surrounding properties, the City Council may require additional landscaping and screening to <br />ensure that surrounding properties have an adequate buffer to the use(s) and structure(s) <br />proposed with the CPUD. <br />Page 4 of9
