On July 14,2002 Orono Police seized al993 Harley Davidson, Roadster, <br />VIN" : 1HD4CFM18PY207163 in reference to a DWI. Neither owner contested the forfeiture of <br />their respective vehicles. On 10/03/02 City Attorney, Ken Potts certified that the appeal time has <br />expired and therefore the vehicles are now the property of the City of Orono. The Police <br />Department has no need for these vehicles. <br />The 2001 Ford Pickup that was forfeited to the City on August 18,2002 was equipped with a <br />vinyl roll up access covei for the pickup bed. With the installation of a full topper on this truck <br />for CSO use, the almost new roll up cover is not needed. <br />The Police Department is preparing to ac' ertise for sal; the old CSO vehicle squad 184. <br />Council has already authorized sale of this vehicle. <br />All surplus items listed above will be sold by a sealed bid process after advertising the sale in the <br />Star-Tribune. <br />COIFNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />The Police Department would like permission to offer for sale the above described surplus items.
