Home occupations will be allowed to be conducted in conforming accessory <br />buildings only in the RR-1A and RR>1B Rural residential (5 acre and 2-acre) districts. <br />ft *ft •.lited Home Occupations . The types of home occupations that are prohibited are those which <br />would clearly have a negative impact on a neighborhood in terms of noise, odors, vibration, <br />hazardous materials, fire hazards, excessive traffic, commercial vehicle traffic, or which could pose <br />a threat to the general health, safety and welfare. The proposed prohibition of the “sale, lease or <br />transfer of firearms or anununition by a firearms dealer, except when such dealer is Federally <br />licensed”, is subject to review by the City Attorney, and we expect to have his recommendation on <br />whether this prohibition is legally acceptable before Monday’s meeting. <br />Staff Rcconmcadation <br />Staff recommends adoption of the attached ordinance as recommended by the Planning Commission. <br />Existing known home occupations that will be subject to the licensing requirement will be notified <br />of the new ordinance requirements. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Adopt the attached “Ordinance Adding Orono Municipal Code Section 10.63, and Amending <br />Sections 5.40, 10.02,10.20 Subd. 4C and 10.61 Subd. 2 A Regarding Home Occupation Use and <br />Licensing”. <br />V <br />I <br />£
