The vehicle is suitable for use as a Community Service Officer (CSO) vehicle
for use in transporting animals, barricades, traffic safety and rescue equipment. The CSO is
currently using a 1999 Crown Victoria which is proposed to be removed from the fleet due to
high mileage.
A pick-up truck is a more suitable vehicle for the duties assigned to the CSO, however the
previous truck was sold at the beginning of 2002 due to high mileage and the high cost of repairs.
The police department will transfer radio and other emergency equipment from the current sedan
and proposes to add a topper to the truck and make other modifications as necessary. The pick
up is navy blue, and a new paint job is not required.
COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED
Motion to convert a forfeited 2001 Ford F-ISO to the police department fleet as a community
service officer vehicle.
jy.
!ii
•i
