The previous <br />day care ceased operation in October 2001 and a new conditional use permit <br />is required. The Orono Montessori School/Day Care Center was located in <br />the lower level of St. Edward ’s Church until it recently burned do\^n. <br />The applicant has indicated they will have 7 members on staff. The ages of <br />the stu^nts will range from 16 months to 6 years. The ratio of children to <br />workers is based on the number of children and their ages. The ratios are set <br />by the Department of Human Services (DHS) and are regulated by the state <br />licensing process.
