PLANNING COMMISSION MEETINQ MINUTES <br />May 20.2002 <br />Page 32 of 22 <br />Carolyn C. stated that the previous plan allowed for small retail which supported the office <br />Hawn questioned whether the Commission can recommend to Council that they guide the development <br />for possible retail that is not accessory to the office. <br />Hawn moved, Cynthia B seconded, recommending to Council that they guide appropriate spaces in <br />the area deBned by Willow Drive on the east. Old Crystal Bay Road on the west. Highway 12 on the <br />south, and the border of Willow View for possible retail that is not accessory to the offices or <br />anything else. VOTE Ayes 6, Nays 1, with Smith dissenting. <br />Hawn moved, with respect to the same geographic area bounded by Willow Drive on the east. Old <br />Crystal Bay Road on the west. Highway 12 on the south, and Willow View to the north, that such <br />retail use shall be conducted in buildings no greater than 20,000 s.f. <br />Smith asked if size is the only precursor here. <br />Based on these various concerns, Hawn wished that the Commission did not have to come up with a vote <br />this evening. <br />Gaffron pointed out to the Commissioners that all of these decisions do not need to be made this evening. <br />He suggested that they table further discussion upon obtaining more information, results of a traffic study. <br />discussions with Long Lake, etc. <br />Carolyn C. stated that defining building types can help in defming use and asked the Commission to <br />continue in order to allow her group to move the process forward.
