Money would then <br />be immediately available to be used for rewards for information leading to the arrest and conviction <br />of persons responsible for committing crimes which occur in the jurisdiction of the Orono Police <br />Department. <br />The reward fund will be established using the existing forfeiture fund. Reward postings and the <br />determination of awards over $200 shall be made by recommendation of the chief of jrolice to the <br />city administrator. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Motion to create a separate account in the existing Forfeiture Fund for the establishment of a Crime <br />Information Reward Fund Account of $2,000, to authorize the Police Chief to offer rewards of up <br />to $200, and up to $2,000 with the approval of the City Administrator, and to amend the Forfeiture <br />Fund budget to reflect the authorization of expenditures up to $2,000. <br />li <br />U <br />I (* >
