City Council vacancies are filled by Council appointment until an election is held. In this <br />case, the new appointee will serve the remainder of Council Member Flint’s term which expires on <br />December 31,2002. An election will be held in November of2002 to fill the position for a four-year <br />term beginning on January 1, 2003. The Council may at this time take action regarding an <br />appointment to fill the vacancy on the Council. A resolution is attached for Council consideration. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED; <br />Motion to adopt a resolution to fill the current vacancy on the City Council.
