#02-2772 John and Donna Crotteau
1405 Sixth Avenue North
Paye 4 of 4 __________________
C oubc M Ontiona for Actien
Council has three parts of the application to consider. The Planning Commission reviewed the
application and made the three recommendations noted above.
A.
B.
Bay additions and entryway/kitchen expansion (7-0 approval recommendation).
Lakeside 13’ expansion of living room into the bluff (5-2 approval recommendation).
Discussion should include the new information that is available regarding the DNR ‘s
objection to the bluff impact. If Council determines *he size of the addition creates a
significant bluff impact, it may be appropriate to consider the option of a smallersignificant bluff impact, ....
addition. A smaller addition would create less bluff impact and make access around the
house easier.
C.9.5 ’ side setback variance for the attached garage to be located 20.5 ’ to the side property
line where 30 ’ is required (7-0 denial recommendation).
The attached resolution reflects the recommendation of the Planning Commission,
Staff RecommendatioB
In consideration of the comments as provided by the DNR, staff continues to recommend
approval of the addition but due to the limited access around the building and the potential impact
on the bluff staff is recommending the lakeside addition be reduced by 8’. The staff
recommendation would allow an addition to extend an additional 5 ’ rather than 13 as proposed.
«
1
•*
