TO;Chair Hawn and Orono Planning Commission Members <br />FROM: Wendy Bonenberg, Zoning Administrator/Planner <br />DATE:Febniaiy 19,2002 <br />SUBJECT: #01*2735 Proposed Amendment of Zoning Code - Section 10.03, Subd. 14(C): <br />Lot Coverage by Structures Standards <br />Exhibits: <br />A Draft Ordinance • Proposed Revision to Lot Coverage by Structures Section <br />B Minutes from January PC Meeting <br />C Staff report from January PC Meeting <br />Summary: <br />The six members present at the January 22,2002 Plaiming Commission meeting reiterated that in <br />ground pools and their associated grade level patios would no longer be considered as structures <br />for the purpose of calculating “lot coverage by structures.” Also, hardcover limits on non* <br />shoreland properties less than 2 acres would not be appropriate. <br />Staff was instructed to draft an Ordinance amendment to the February Planning Commission <br />meeting. The draft is anached as Exhibit A. <br />Staff Recommendation: <br />Provide direction to staff regarding amending lot coverage by structures ordinance. <br />Planning Commission Options: <br />1. Make a recommendation on the ordinance amendment and forward review of the amendment <br />to the Council for review at the meeting scheduled March 11,2002. <br />2. Other. <br />. %.%>- » — ——
