ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MONDAY, JANUARY 14,2002 <br />*14. Park Commissioo Reappointments <br />Sansevere moved, and White seconded, to approve appointment of Andrew <br />McDermott for a Park Commission term from January 1,2002 to December 31, <br />2004, and to approve appointment of Irene Silbur for a Park Commission term from <br />January 1,2002 *o December 31,2004. <br />Vote: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />*15. Selection of Date for 2002 Local Board of Review <br />Sansevere moved, and White seconded, to establish W'ednesday, April 24,2002 at <br />7:00 p.m. as the date and time for the 2002 Local Board of Review meeting. <br />Vote: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />*16. Curbside Recycling Contract Extension for 2002-2004 <br />Sansevere moved, and White seconded, to approve the extension of the curbside <br />recycling contract with E-Z Recycling for the period from January 1,2002 through <br />December 31,2004 at a rate of $2.18 per household per month, and to authorize the <br />Mayor and City Clerk to sign the Curbside Contract Extension Agreement for 2002- <br />2004. <br />V'ote: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />17. Pay Requests—Long Lake/Orono Fire Station Project <br />Sansevere stated he did not put Item 17 onto the Consent Agenda because he had a <br />question about the way BKV Architects is being paid. He asked why the small items, like <br />copying, were not included in the up-front figure. Moorsc stated these are “reimbursable <br />expenses,” which arc billed separately from the “professional services fee,” and that the <br />project manager is keeping track of these expenses. Sansevere indicated he believed these <br />expenses should be covered by the professional services fee. Other Council members <br />indicated that the reimbursable expenses are the norm in professional serx ices contracts. <br />White moved, and Flint seconded, to approve the pay requests for: <br />1. Construction Bulletin—Advertisement for Bids for Site excavation and <br />Soils Correction - $146.70 <br />2. Laker and Pioneer—Advertisement for Bids for Site Excavation and Soib <br />Correction - $135.50 <br />3. BKV Architects—Payment to reflect work completed - $49378.26 <br />4. Kirk Program Management, Inc. (Project Manager) - For work completed <br />- $15,484.45. <br />Vote: Aves 5, Navs 0.
