MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING -------------- <br />OF THE ORONO CITY COUNCIL <,cn o o onnz <br />Thunday, September 11,2603 ^ ^ <br />4:00 o*clock p.m. Cl l y ur o«uwo <br />ROLL <br />The Council met in a special meeting on the above mentioned date with the following members <br />present: Mayor Barbara Peterson; Council Members Jim Murphy, Jim White, and Bob Sansevere; <br />Representing staff was City Administrator Ron Moorse <br />Mayor Peterson called the meeting to order at S: 11 P.M. <br />1.Resebioa of Prdlmiaary 2004 Tax Lcv7 and Budget Resolutions, and Adoption of <br />Revised Tax Levy and Budget - Resolutions No. 5044 and 5044 <br />Moorse reported that, due to a misunderstanding*, regarding how the loss of State Market <br />Value Credit Aid was to be calculated into the City’s tax levy, the tax levy reflected in the <br />resolutions adopted at the September 8. 2003 meeting did not correctly reflect the <br />necessary tax levy amount. The levy amount needs to include the amount of Market <br />Value Credit Aid, even though the State is not going to pay the Aid to the City. Moorse <br />provided revised resolutions that both rescinded the initial resolutions and adopted the new <br />budget and levy amounts. <br />Morphy moved, Sansevere seconded, the approval of the Resolution No. 5044 adopting the <br />proposed 2003 Tax Levy collectible la 2004. <br />VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />Murphy moved, Sansevere seconded, the approval of Resolution No. 5045 to adopt the <br />propos^ 2004 General Fund Budget. <br />VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />ADJOLILVMENT <br />Mnrphy moved, Sansevere seconded, to adjourn the Orono City Council Meeting of <br />September II, 2003 at 5:27 P3I.
