A RESOLUTION DECLARING <br />CERTAIN PROPERTY TO BE ABANDONED AND <br />REQUESTING AUTHORIZATION TO DISPOSE OF SAID PROPERTY <br />WHEREAS, the Orono Police Department has come into lawful possession of certain <br />property; and <br />WHEREAS, the Orono Police Department has drafted a Request for Council Action and <br />identified the property in an addendum to the Request for Council Action, and <br />WHEREAS, this property has been in the possession of the Police Department for more <br />than 60 days; and <br />WHEREAS, the owners of said property have either failed to respond to notification or <br />the owners of said property cannot be identified, and <br />WHEREAS, City Ordinance allows for the disposal of abandoned or unclaimed property <br />and the Police Department is seeking authorization to dispose of said property pursuant to <br />Ordinance. <br />that: <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Orono <br />I.The Police Department be authorized to dispose of said surplus property by public <br />auction through Soderholm Auction Company, or <br />2. <br />3. <br />Give non-salable items to Charity, or <br />Forward to Orono Public Works, items that are usable for the benefit of the City <br />of Orono and its residents. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono this 8* day of September, 2003. <br />ATTEST: <br />Linda S.
