Box 66 <br />Crystal Bay, MN 55323 <br />(952) 249-4600 <br />ZONING nLE //03-29I9 <br />NOTICE OF PLANNING COMMISSION ACTION <br />DATE OF NOTICE: August 21, 2003 <br />TO: Kevin & Deborah Thompson <br />90 Myrtlewood Road <br />Wayzata, MN 55391 <br />COPIES: <br />TYPE OF APPLICATION: Variances <br />DATE OF MEETING: August 18, 2003 <br />Planning Commission recommended as follows: <br />1.Approval of setback variance to allow the new 996 s.f accessory building to be located <br />23.1' from the side street lot line where a 50* setback is normally required. <br />2.Denial of an Oversize Accessory Structure variance to allow the attachment of the new <br />596 s.f builuing to the c.xisting 848 s.f. garage via a 165 s.f. greenhouse which would <br />yield a 2009 s.f accessory structure on a lot of less than 2 acres in area where no <br />oversize accessory structures are normally allowed; finding no hardship that justifies the <br />variance and noting the potential negative visual impacts of the oversize structure. <br />3.Approval of a variance to allow the proposed 900 s.f pool to be located 15* (rather than <br />the 10' setback proposed) from the side street lot line where a 50' setback would <br />normally be required. <br />4.Applicant to establish and maintain vear-round vegetative screening along the south <br />boundary to reduce the visual impact of the proposed pool and building. <br />5.Approval of a conditional use permit to allow plumbing in the new accessory building <br />(toilet, shower and sink) subject to the standard conditions defined in the City code. <br />VOTE: 5 FOR 0 AGAINST <br />Applicant's next scheduled meeting is confirmed as; <br />City Council - Monday, August 25, 2003; meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. <br />If you desire certified copies of the official Planning Commission minutes, they are available <br />from the City Recorder after review and approval by the Planning Commission.
