Box 66 Crystal Bay, MN 55323 (952) 249-4600 ZONING nLE //03-29I9 NOTICE OF PLANNING COMMISSION ACTION DATE OF NOTICE: August 21, 2003 TO: Kevin & Deborah Thompson 90 Myrtlewood Road Wayzata, MN 55391 COPIES: TYPE OF APPLICATION: Variances DATE OF MEETING: August 18, 2003 Planning Commission recommended as follows: 1.Approval of setback variance to allow the new 996 s.f accessory building to be located 23.1' from the side street lot line where a 50* setback is normally required. 2.Denial of an Oversize Accessory Structure variance to allow the attachment of the new 596 s.f builuing to the c.xisting 848 s.f. garage via a 165 s.f. greenhouse which would yield a 2009 s.f accessory structure on a lot of less than 2 acres in area where no oversize accessory structures are normally allowed; finding no hardship that justifies the variance and noting the potential negative visual impacts of the oversize structure. 3.Approval of a variance to allow the proposed 900 s.f pool to be located 15* (rather than the 10' setback proposed) from the side street lot line where a 50' setback would normally be required. 4.Applicant to establish and maintain vear-round vegetative screening along the south boundary to reduce the visual impact of the proposed pool and building. 5.Approval of a conditional use permit to allow plumbing in the new accessory building (toilet, shower and sink) subject to the standard conditions defined in the City code.
