. ^ » <br />GITYoTORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. _ <br />A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF A CONTINUING PARTNERSHIP AMONG THE <br />AREA CITIES AND WITH THE ORONO SCHOOL DISTRICT REGARDING <br />EFFORTS TO ADDRESS CHEMICAL ABUSE <br />WHEREAS, there is strong evidence that drug use significantly affects our school age <br />youth; and <br />and <br />WHEREAS, there is strong evidence that drug use significantly affects our communities; <br />WHEREAS, the remarkable accomplishments of the initial drug enforcement effort by <br />the Medina, Orono and West Hennepin Police Departments demonstrates both the extent of the <br />drug problem in this area and the effectiveness of drug enforcement efforts in addressing the <br />problem; and <br />WHEREAS, there is a strong consensus regarding the importance of continuing efforts <br />to address the chemical abuse problem. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Orono Minnesota <br />that the City strongly supports a partnership between the area cities and the Orono School <br />District to promote drug prevention. <br />Adopted by the Orono City Council on this 11* day of August 2003. <br />ATTEST: <br />Linda S.
