Anwndmeut to Noise Ordinincc, Continued) <br />Attorney Barrett recognized the Council’s concerns, stating that in an effort to limit this problem <br />they focused on the noise ordinance. <br />Murphy suggested that an odor or pollution ordinance might be more practical. He asked if the <br />neighbors or City had spoken to the offending owner. <br />Moorse stated that the City has very general odor, nuisance, and noise ordinances currently in place, <br />admitting how difficult it is to get too specific in these areas. Moorse stated that the truck owner is <br />aware that he is allowed to keep his dump truck at home, and does not believe he meets the <br />definition of a home occupation. <br />Gappa acknowledged that these are the types of problems Orono is faced with as it transitions from <br />rural to metro. <br />Gaffron inquired whether the City could further define the oversize vehicle definition to include <br />diesel trucks. <br />Sansevere and Murphy indicated that they were not comfortable to move this ordinance forward. <br />Moorse stated that they would continue to rework the ordinance. <br />Murphy moved. Mayor Peterson seconded, to table the ordinance amending the City*s Noise <br />Ordinance. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br />Attorney Barrett reported that the City is in negotiations with the Cable’s. <br />*18. LICENSES <br />Kennel <br />I.
