#03-2906 Jaac12,2003 Pa|c6 Staff Recommcidatioii Staff recommends that the retaining wall system on the lake side of the road be denied, and the applicant directed to remove the offending walls and apply for a building permit to construct a short S' stairway if pedestrian access is necessary. Staff recommends that further design detail be provided by the applicant regarding the proposed wall on the house side of the street. It should be determined whether this wall is absolutely necessary or if it can be avoided by minor regrading of the slope. If this wall is ^proved, it should be located within the property, not on the right-of-way, and screened with vegetation to soften its visual impact from the lake. The area between the wall and the road should not be paved, graveled or otherwise allowed to become a parking area, except for a 3' gravel shoulder adjacent to the existing pavement. Proposed Motion Motion to recommend denial of the retaining wall on the lake side of the road, and to either deny the house-side retaining wall or table for further design detail from the applicant.
