He believed the slopes could be maintainable and did not <br />constitute a dangerous slope which required retaining walls. <br />Roberts maintained that the ground at ltdceside was eroding and the timbers helped to give <br />them a stable base to walk on. <br />Hawn recommended the applicant restore the yard to the original grade or slope. <br />Bremer questioned the presence of the house side retaining wall. <br />Roberts indicated that he had spoken to Lyle Oman about placing a 4* high wall there since <br />he would, ideally, like to round the comer and taper it down. <br />Mabusth stated that she believed the retaining wall was necessary based on the topography <br />there. <br />Gafiron questioned whether, if the wall were allowed, the Commission would like to see <br />screening placed in fiont of it. <br />Roberts pointed out that there was a huge tree on the west comer above the retaining wall <br />which would affect its position. He suggested constructing a two tiered retaining wall with <br />vegetation between the layers. <br />The Commission agreed with this suggestion. <br />Mabusth moved, Hawn seconded, recommending approval of Application #03*2906, <br />Richard Roberts, 1937 Fageniess Point Road, granting after-the-fact variance <br />PAGE IS of 31
