Gappa <br />Title Director of Public Services <br />Administrator Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br />Public Services Director's Report <br />Item Description: City of Medina- Medina Momingside Expansion Development <br />Introduction <br />In March 2003, we received preliminary plans for the proposed Keller Estates subdivision which <br />is located west of Willow Drive between the Orono City Limits and the existing Medina <br />Momingside development. This proposed subdivision eontains twenty-one 3/4 aere lots on 22 acres, <br />and the property currently has one single family residence located on it. <br />We have sent the City of Medina two letters regarding this proposed subdivision and Council <br />members were provided copies of these two letters in the Council Packet Information Items Section. <br />There has not been any discussions regarding this project at a regularly scheduled Council meeting. <br />A summary of the information provided to the City of Medina in the two letters is provided below <br />for your review. The two letters are also attached <br />The City of Medina has now received a preliminary plat application for this project and the Public <br />Hearing on this application is scheduled for the Medina Planning Commission meeting on August <br />12*^. The City of Medina has requested that Orono review and comment on this proposed <br />subdiv ision. The Orono property owners north of County Road 6 that are directiv adjacent to the <br />development property should receive notification of the public hearing from the City of Medina. <br />Summary of Informatien in Letters Sent to the City of Medina <br />This proposed development is located west of Willow Drive between the Orono City Limits and the <br />existing Medina Momingside development. The existing Medina Momingside Development was <br />developed in the 1960's and has eighty 1/3-acre lots with both municipal sewer and water. The <br />Momingside neighborhood is the only area in southern Medina in the MUSA and that is designated <br />for higher density residential development, with the surrounding area zoned for large lot rural <br />residential development.
