MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />Monday, May 19,2003 <br />6:00 o’clock p.m. <br />___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ <br />Karlson explained that each unit would diqilay an individually engraved nameplate, with <br />an overall ofiice park sign near the entrance. <br />Gaffion suggested that they ensure the office park sign meets all of the setbacks and does <br />not cause negative visual impacts from Highway 12. He noted that the base would be made <br />of similar brick matching the building and illuminated from within. <br />Hawn asked if the representatives had h eld additional meetings with the neighbors. <br />Gaffron stated that no new comments had been received since the last meeti- .^. <br />Marilyn Mileusnic, 2110 Sugarwoods Drive, stated that, while she was pleased to see that <br />they had downsized the development, she believed that it was still too much for the site. <br />She indicated that she would be interested in seeing the hardcover percentages versus the <br />greenspace. <br />Karlson stated that they had done their best to add greenspace between the center by <br />adding Colorado spruce to block the parking from view. <br />Jackie Ricks, 2108 Sugarwoods Drive, stated that she had phoned Gaffron about receiving <br />the brochure. She indicated that she, too, believed the use was too intense for just 2 acres. <br />Ms. Ricks stated that she would like to see the number of rentals reduced even further, <br />perhaps by two more. As the dumpster was nearest her property, she asked about ite <br />placement and time trash pickup would occur. <br />Karlson indicated that they were open to a better location, however, he could not guarantee <br />pick up at a certain time. <br />Rahn suggested limitations be put on the hauler in terms of pick up times, and believed the <br />PAGE 28 of 37
