Application for Peddler or Transient Merchant License <br />Page 2 <br />Vehicle Information (for any vehicle to be used in conjunction with the licensed business) <br />License Plate Number: <br />Vehicle Identification Number: <br />Registered Owner:________ <br />Description of Vehicle: <br />Year Make Model Color <br />Additional Required Submittals <br />Proof of county license (if required) <br />Written permission of the property owner or the property owner's agent for any property to be used <br />by a transient merchant <br />Copy of valid legal identification <br />Payment of fee (check made payable to City of Orono) <br />ORONO MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 5.30 <br />REGULATIONS ON PEDDLERS, SOLICITORS AND TRANSIENT MERCHANTS <br />A. It is unlawful for any peddler, solicitor or transient merchant to: <br />1 . Call aUention to his or her business or items to be sold by means of blouing any horn or whistle, ring any bell, <br />crying out, or by an other noise, so as to be uiueasonably audible within an enclosed structure. <br />2. Obstruct the free flow of either vehicular or pedestrian traffic on any street, alley, sidewalk or other public <br />right-of-way. <br />3. Conduct business in a way so as to create a threat to the health, safety and welfare of any individual or the <br />general public. <br />4. Conduct business before 8:00 a.m. or after 8:00 p.m. <br />5. Fail to provide proof of license and/or identification, when requested; or using the license of another person. <br />6. No peddler or transient merchant shall claim to have the endorsement of the city solely based on the city <br />having issued a license to that person. <br />7. Remain on the property of another when requested to leave, or to otherwise conduct business in a manner a <br />reasonable person would find obscene, threatening, intimidating or abusive. <br />8. Enter, or attempt to gain entrance, to residential premises dispia>'ing at such entrance a sign with the words <br />"Peddlers Prohibited" or other comparable statement. <br />B. It is unlawful for any person to engage in peddler or transient merchant activities without completion of licensing. <br />C. Transient merchant activities can only be conducted on commercially zoned properties. <br />D. A peddler or transient merchant can only be licensed for a maximum of 10 days per >rar. <br />The undersigned hereby agrees to the conditions quoted above from the Orono Municipal Code and any additional <br />requirements the Cit>' staff may have.
