MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETD4G <br />Monday, April 21,2003 <br />6:00 o’clock p.m. <br />pointed out that the kitchen is minimal and they would like to add to it and improve it. <br />While they would be replacing the foundation and giving the lot line a bit of relief, Mr. <br />Midthun indicated that they need the space for the new kitchen. <br />Chair Smith inquired about drainage issues. <br />Mr. Midthun stated that they had no drainage issues in the past, even wdien a mere 1.3’ to <br />the lot line. <br />Mr. Bricko indicated that the drainage should improve with the new plans, os the siHVeyor <br />had recommended they direct water using a swale and perhaps drain tile as well. He stated <br />that they would work with staff to create an acceptable drainage plan. <br />Chair Smith indicated that she had no problem granting the average laks k.^isclback <br />variance due to the subdivision. <br />Mrs. Gallistel, 2933 Casco Point Road, the northwest neighbor supported the neighbors <br />application and did not even see the need to move the old garage. <br />Eric Berg, 2965 Casco Point Road, stated that he would not have a problem supporting a S’ <br />side yard setback along their property line. He liked the proposal. <br />Although she could support the application. Chair Smith was hesitant to grant the side yard <br />setback. <br />Since the foundation would be replaced, Fritzler indicated that he would support the 10’ <br />side yard setback as recommended by staff. <br />Mabusth asked if the additions or home could be slid back further to the north to allow <br />more room. <br />PAGE 14 of 56
