------ %i,ae - Se>/Ls.
. ' ^ (Zf€e^ " >!€=■ a 5 /aj
TO; Filcj PA47" iSpOAtp
FROM: Mike Gaffron, Septic System Inspector
DATE; May 16, 1978
SUBJECT; Septic Systems - Soil Testing, Stielow Subdivision
A review of the soil testing information submitted by Hickock
and Associates for the Stielow Subdivision leads me to the
following conclusions;
I I Lot 1 - Percolation rate 11 min,/inch; 5 min,/inch at secondary
site; water table at 2-4 feet; mottled below 3 feet. Water table
is too high for a standard system. Slopes of 6-12% on the primary
site are too steep for a mound system. Possibilities for this
lot are: 1) a mound system in the secondary drainfield area;
2) holding tanks; or 3) declare the lot as unbuildable,
2. I Lot 2 - Percolation rate 24 min,/inch; 23 min,/inch at secondary
* site; water table at 3-7 feet. Primary site is near or within
existing drainfield. Slopes of 0-6%, Due to high water table,
a mound system or shallow trenches would be necessary,
i 2-Lot 3 - Percolation rate 83 min,/inch; 83 min,/inch at*secondary
site; water table at 3-7 feet; slopes of 6-12%, High water table
indicates standard trenches will not be acceptable (soil mottling
at 5 ft,, 3 ft,, and 1 ft. indicate a high seasonal water table).
Slopes are too steep for a mound system, and perc rates are too
slow for shallow trenches. I believe it may be possible to install
a mound to the southeast of proposed drainfields where the slope
is more level. Additional testing would be necessary.
1/ 4 - Percolation rate 100 min./inch; 33 min./inch at secondary
* site. The lot is presently being retested to find a more suitable
site.
^ Ubot 5 - Percolation rate 27 min./inch; 53 min./inch at secondary
* site. Water table at 8 ft. Soil mottling below 6 ft., slopes
4-12%. A standard system could be installed on this lot.
f ^iLot 6 - Percolation rate 67 min,/inch; 30 min./inch at secondary
^ site. Water table at 3.5 - 8 ft. Mottling at 3.5 ft. A mound
system would be necessary on this lot due to high water table and
slow perc rate. ^
S\T^ /Vo/ZTH S-Z/Xr I’Cir
/OoT /\s
SiTB bt^r TD S40CO
feyecs
