ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MONDAY, APRIL 14,2003 <br />4. Approve/Amend <br />Items 13,14,15,16,17, and 20 were added to the Consent Agenda. <br />Murphy moved, and Nygard seconded, to approve the consent agenda as amended. <br />Vote: Ayes 4, Nays 0, Abstain I (Sansevere). <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />*5. Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of March 24,2003 <br />Murphy moved, and Nygard seconded, to approve the Minutes of the Regular <br />Council Meeting of March 24,2003. <br />Vote: Ayes 4, Nays 0, Abstain 1 (Sansevere). <br />PARK COMMISSION COMMENTS—DREW MCDERMOTT <br />McDermott reported that Gabriel Jabbour had briefed the Commission on Crystal Creek <br />Park, the Luiton property, and on the Dakota Rail project. McDermott stated they arc <br />very happy with Jabbour’s work on behalf of the City, and he is an asset to the Park <br />Commission. <br />The Navarre Park neighborhood met, and told the Commission they appreciate the work <br />done on the park, but arc anxious to have sidewalks and trails installed. <br />They would like to dedicate a crabapple tree to Rick Meyers in the Navarre Park, and a <br />small planting bed to Sherokec Use in front of the sign in Bederwood Park to recognize <br />them for their work on the Commission. <br />White asked if the City could get a matching grant of S5000 from the Twins to put in a <br />softball field, would they find somew here to locate it. White stated they could designate <br />the field for softball or baseball, but Orono already has baseball fields. Sansevere <br />suggested partnering with an association to find a location. McDemiott stated they would <br />look into it, but possibly Saga Hill would work. <br />PLANNING COMMISSIO.N COMMENTS—LIZ HAWN <br />None.
