Gappa
TUIc Director of Public Services
Administrator Reviewed:
Item Description: Seasonal Employeei^or Golf Course
Agenda Section:
Public Service Director’s Report
Council approval of seasonal employees for the Golf Course is required. We are proposing a pay
range of $7.72 to $8.43 per hour for this season. New employees earn $7.75 per hour for the first
year. Returning employees earn more each year until the maximum rate is reached in four years.
The proposed wage rates are an increase of 3.0% over the 2002 season hourly rates.
Seasonal employees are hired under two different provisions of the PERA rules. The majority of
the empioyees will be hired under the 6-month rule which allows unlimited earnings for a 6-month
maximum lime period. The starting dates for these employees are staggered to allow for sufficient
staffing throughout the entire season.
The remainder of the employees work fewer hours and will be hired under the PERA maximum
earnings provision which limits earnings to $425 per month without any restrictions on the number
of months worked. These employees are noted in the list below as "Maximum Earnings Limit".
LIST OF SEASONAL GOLF COURSE EMPLOYEES
Employee 2003 Hourly Wage Rate
Dan Oas $8.43
Gary Peickert $8.22
John Stork $8.22
Bill Mclntyr**$8.22
John Ross Maximum Earnings Limit $8.22
Jan Blair $8.22
Fred Abrahamson $8.22
Marshall Hambro Maximum Earnings Limit $7.97
Rodney Jensen $7.97
Katie Smyth $7.97
Dan Marsella $7.97
Paul Goldsmith $7.97
Returning Employee
.
V
