He request the Council excuse the <br />$500 civil penalty. 1 he council moved to excuse the fine amount if there were no same or similar <br />violations in the next six months but that the violation it self would stand for the record. <br />At the Januar>' 27, 2003 Council meeting, the Council heard a request from the Orono Police <br />Department to reconsider the matter as information proN’ided to the Council by Mr. Anderst was not <br />consistent with the information that the police department had. The Council elected to continue the <br />matter till the Februar>' 10,2003 meeting. Both Mr. Anderst and the police department could then <br />be present to offer their perspective on the matter. <br />The police department through Police Chief Good did write Mr. Anderst, inviting him to the <br />February 10,2003 meeting. This letter was hand delivered by CSO Herman to Mr. Anderst. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REOlJF.STF.n: <br />It is requested that the Council reconsider the waiving of the civil penalty and impose the full amount <br />of the $500 for a first offense vioIatioiL
