The municipal codcofOrono is hereby amended by adding ihe following Definition to <br />Zoning Code Section 10.02: <br />"Use, Inlcrim" - A temporary use of property until a particular date, or until the occurrence <br />of a particular event, or until zoning regulations no longer permit it. as determined by the <br />City Council. <br />Section 2. <br />follows: <br />The municipal code of Orono is hereby amauied by adding Section 11). 14 to read as <br />SEC. 10.14. INTERIM USES. <br />Subd. I. Interim Uses: Purpose. Certain properties within the City arc <br />subject to future acquisition for right-of-way of Highway 1 2. and those properties may in some <br />eases be unsuitably situateil or not finaiKially feasible on a sliort-temi basis foran> ofthcpcrmittcrl <br />or conditional uses allowed by the Zoning Chapter. I lowcvcr. certain uses under certain conditions <br />may be appropriate for such properties for a limited pcrioil of time, hut which arc not generally <br />appropriate on a pemiancnt basis, which arc not consistent with land uses designated on the <br />adopted loind Use Plan, and which arc not identified as allowable permitted or conditional uses <br />within the respective zoning district, 'fhe purpose of this ordimmcc is to allow such uses for a brief <br />anil limited period of time at the discretion of the City Counci I. In order to achics'c these purposes, <br />the City Council is empowered to grant and todeny applications for interim use permits and to <br />Impose rc;isonable conditions upon the granting of these permits. <br />Subd. 2. Interim Uses: Procedure. Applications for interim use permits shall <br />be processed in the same manner as conditional use permits as established in Section 10.09 <br />of the Zoning Chapter. <br />the following: <br />Subd. 3.
