MN 55356 <br />Re Request for Variance at 2618 Casco Point Road <br />Dear Ms Curtis. <br />After speaking with you and the City Administrator today I feel it necessary to prepare <br />this letter and have it included in the public record of the Planning Commission meeting <br />of 10/18/2004 <br />The o\sner of 2618 Casco Point Road. Mr Eric Vogsirom has applied for a hard cover <br />and side yard set back variance I have expressed the following concerns to him and you <br />w I>ainage between his proposed home and my home <br />> Trimming of trees to enhance his siew <br />r Protection of established trees <br />> Off street parking <br />Mr Vogstrom and 1 discussed these issues and he agreed to install gutter, downspouts <br />buried drain tile and a swale between the properties to control drainage He also agreed to <br />work with me on tree trimming to enhance his view, and to protect existing trees <br />Last week Mr Vogstrom hired a tree service, which in addition to illegally culling trees <br />on his own property and neighboring public property, came onto my prop^y and cut <br />down mature trees that impacted his view without a permit or my permission These trees <br />were cut down even after I pointed out to Mr Vogstrom and his tree service exactly <br />where the property line was located (surv’ey stakes were clearly visible) <br />As a result of his actions I do not believe he will voluntarily honor any of his prev ious <br />commitments regarding drainage or tree preservation and 1 am stron^y against granting <br />the requested variances <br />Additionally 1 request the City Engineer make note of these concerns during his review of <br />the Vogstrom «te plan and drainage plan as part of the construction drawing review <br />process to protect neighboring properly owners <br />Sincerely "7 <br />2648 Casco Point Road <br />Orono MN 55391
