Some <br />exan^lesare: <br />• cngineotl, <br />• transmission fluid, <br />• lubricating oil, <br />• hydraulic oil, <br />• gearoil, <br />• transformer fluid, <br />• cutting oil, <br />• tempering or quenching oils, <br />• greaseaod <br />• brake fluid. <br />NOTE: Antiflecee; fuels, such as fuel oil; <br />and solvents are not used oil. <br />What are *Msed OIMIalaled <br />Wastes*? <br />Used oil filters and nulerials used to soak up <br />oil (sorbents) are common used oil-related <br />w-astes. <br />Used oil filters are Alters having a metal <br />e.t;enor and paper, packed bed, wound or <br />similar interiors that arc used in v^cles or <br />machines to Alter lubricating oil. <br />Examples of sorbents often used to clean up <br />used oil inehide: <br />• polypropylene or other plastic resin <br />pod^ hd)^ sheets or grar ules; <br />• pest; <br />• corncobs; <br />• cellulose Aber. <br />• sawdust; <br />• wood chips; <br />• paper wipes; <br />• cloth towels or other reusable materials; <br />• rice and cotton-seed hulls; <br />• granular clay, <br />• diatomaceous earth; <br />• amorphous silica; <br />• cork and <br />• pumice. <br />Environmental Concerns <br />Used oil.
