REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION OCI 2 5 2004 <br />DATE : Octdber Q5 .qKRNP <br />ITEM NO c2-^ <br />Department Approval;^ /K*/ Administrator Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br />Name Tom City Administrator's <br />' ReportTitle Finance Director <br />item Description: <br />Public Hearing Regarding the Certification of Delinquent Utilities <br />and General Service Fees <br />Attachments: (A) Resolution providing for the collection of delinquent sewer, water. <br />recycling program fees, septic inspection fees, ?nd general service <br />fees. <br />(B) Assessment roll. <br />Each year the city certifies to the county, all unpaid annual service charges for <br />the septic inspection program, the unpaid recycling program fees, all delinquent <br />sewer and water accounts of $50.00 or more, and the delinquent general <br />services for false alarm fees and developers improvement fees, to be collected <br />with the following year's taxes. In addition to the outstanding amounts <br />delinquent, eight percent (8%) interest is added to all accounts and an <br />administrative fee is added to the septic accounts. At this time the total to be <br />assessed is $88,551.85 including administrative fees. This amount will be <br />decreased by any payments received up to the final payment date of November <br />24, 2004. A copy of the assessment roll is attached for your review. <br />State statutes require the City hold a public hearing regarding the assessment of <br />these fees prior to certifying the assessment roll to the County. Notices of the <br />public hearing have been sent to all delinquent properties. The hearing is an <br />opportunity for property owners to ask questions and provide comments <br />regarding the proposed assessment. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Adoption of resolution providing for the collection of delinquent charges for the <br />2004 sewer and water utility services, the septic inspection program, the <br />recycling program, the false alarms, developers improvement fees, and other <br />general service fees. <br />V:\Cuuiiul Hcm»\2004VCCRT20(MUB due <br />t <br />if <br />;! <br />i <br />I
