Lot area variance to permit construction of a residence on a lot that is 0.643 acres in <br />size when 2 acre.s in normally required. <br />2. Lot width variance to permit construction of a residence on a lot that is 50.50* in <br />width at the shoreline and 75* setback when 200* is normally required. <br />3. North and south side yard setback variances to permit side yard setbacks of 10* when <br />30’ is normally required. <br />Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends approval of the variances as a house has existed <br />on the 50* wide lot since 1957, the applicants are not able to acquire any other land, the lot <br />was legally formed at the time it was platted, and if the 30* side yard setbacks were enforced <br />the lot would have no buildable area. <br />Planning Commission Recommendation <br />The Planning Comm.ission voted 5-1, with Commissioner Jurgens voting against, for approval of the <br />plans as submitted. <br />Staff Recommendation <br />Approval per the attached Resolution. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Adopt the attached Resolution granting lot area/width and side yard setback variance for 3S6 West Lake <br />Street. <br />nit I 'li'iifiWiiiir II
