r <br />% <br />Lake, while still allowing reasonable use of Ihese areas for watercraft owned by riparian owners using electric <br />motors; and <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Legislature adopted Laws of Minnesota 2004 Chapter 255 Section 43 <br />which removed Six Mile Creek from the jurisdiction of the LMCD; and <br />WHEREAS, Laws of Minnesota 2004, Chapter 225, Section 43 was passed by the Legislature without <br />consu^ wth the cities around the Lake, the Department of Natural Resources, the Minnehaha Creek <br />Watershed District, the Lake Minnetonka Association, the H^dsteds Bay Preservation Group, or the Lake <br />Minnetonka Conservation District or any of its directors, and was passed without legislative hearirigs; and <br />the LMCD is better able than other state or local agencies to devote the necessary time to <br />^ P«>tec«on to the <br />puDjc health, safety and welfare, adopt and enforce regulations on a uniform lake-wide basis, aid mediate the <br />conflicting interests of the many stakeholders in Lake Minnetonka; aid <br />^ Minnesota 2004. Chapter 255. Section 43 deprives certain areas of the L^e of <br />the benefits and protection of the LMCD and Its regulation of development a^ use of the Lake; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of that; <br />1.It would be in the public interest to repeal Laws of Minnesota 2004, Chapter 255. Section 43. <br />2.
