A RESOLUTION BESTOWING <br />THE LIFE SAVING AWARD <br />FOR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO <br />OFFICER KYLE RUSSETH <br />AUC 0 9 2004 <br />CITV OF ORO/Vu <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono is supportive of all of its police <br />officers, support staff, and supervisory staff in providing the highest quality |x>Iice <br />services; and <br />W'HEREAS, during the early morning hours of July 18,2004, <br />Oflicer Russeth was on duty when he assisted in the investigation of a house fire <br />on West Arm Road in Spring Park; and <br />WHEREAS, the investigation resulted in imminent death by <br />drowning of a fellow officer; and <br />WHEREAS, Officer Russeth, through immediate action, courage, <br />stamina, and fitness performed a lifesaving act by rescuing Investigator James <br />Comick who fell through a hazardous dock. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Orono City <br />Council bestows upon Kyle Matthew Russeth the LIFE SAVING AWARD for <br />distinguished ser\'ice for his successful lifesaving etToiis involving a fellow <br />officer on July 18, 2004. <br />Adopted by the City Council of Orono, Minnesota at a regular meeting <br />held this 9th day of August, 2004. <br />ATTEST: <br />Linda S.
