ORDINANCE NO__, THIRD SERIES AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY OF ORONO ZONING CODE SECTION 78-281 THROUGH 78-300 REGARDING LAKESHORE RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS The City Council of Orono ordains as follows: Section 1: Municipal Zoning Code Section 78-281 is hereby revised as follows: DIVISION 4. LAKESHORE RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS Subdivision I. In General Seei 78-281i Setback regul atio»» _____(a)-----In any LR-k\, LR IB. LR 1C or LR-IC I diotriot the setback from-the shoreline-for lolieshore lots shall-be 75 feet for all structures; exc ept that on lakeshore kXs divid ed by a major thoroughfare, a lockbox not-in exc ess of 20 square feet tn area ond-48 inches in height is allowed on-the lokeshore portion of the lot and requires a budding permit from the city. ----------------No principal or accessory structure shall be located within 75 feet of the lokeshore nor closer to the lakeshore than the average distance from the shoreline of existing residence buildings on adjacent lots (refer to Orono Manual of Design Standards and Speoifications), exc ept that this does not-apply to structures allowed in 5ubsection-(a) of this sectionr (Code 1981. § 10.22(^) Section 2: Municipal Zoning Code Section 78-282 is hereby revised as follows: Seci 78-282i Lakeshore hard cover nnd-lond alteration rcgulctionsf In any LR IA> LR-IB. LR IC or LR 1C 1 distrietr within 75 feet of shoreline^ there shall be no excavating. Filling, hard cover, temporary-or permanent structures exc ept as permitted under section 78 281. Within 75 tO"350 feet of the shoreline, there shall be no gr eater 4han 25 percent hard cover. Within 250 feet to 500 feet-ef the shoreline, there shall be'no gr eater than 30 percent hard oover.
