Gappa <br />Title Director of Public Services <br />Administntor Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br />Public Services Director’s Report <br />Item Description: Big Island Access LanA Watershed District Wetland Buffer Declaration <br />On April 26**, the Council adopted a resolution approving Zoning Application File #04-2997 <br />granting a Variance and Conditional Use Permit for the construction of a 10' wide gravel access <br />lane on a 90’ wide platted Right of Way on Big Island. <br />On April 22"^, the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District approved a permit for the construction <br />of this Big Island access lane contingent upon the City of Orono approving and recording with <br />Hennepin County a Wetland Buffer Declaration. The declaration requires the City to maintain <br />the buffer area in an unmowed natural state. The buffer location is shown on Attachment A. <br />This Right of Way area has historically remained in a natural unmowed state, and the City has <br />no plans to further develop or increase the maintenance of the vegetation on this site. <br />The staff recommendation is for Council approval of the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District <br />Wetland Buffer Declaration <br />I
