To receive a variance a hardship must be demonstrated. <br />Personal and economic considerations are not valid hardships. There are no <br />guarantees with the variance process. As already mentioned, a commercial site plan <br />review and conditional use permit are required in order to add on to the building and to <br />operate a restaurant. Please bear in mind that the conditional use permit process is <br />required to ensure that the health, safety and general welfare of the community are not <br />affected. The variance process, commercial site plan review, and conditional use permit <br />al! require Planning Commission and City Council approval.
