ORDINANCE NO___, THIRD SERIES <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY OF ORONO ZONING CODE <br />SECnON 78-1466 AND SECTION 78-1568 <br />Rf:GARDING SIGNS <br />Ilic City Council of Orono ordains as follows: <br />Section 1: Municipal Zoning Code Section 78-1466 is hereby revised as follows: <br />(9) Pylon Sign. A sign supported by a post or posts so that the sign and <br />■supports are finished to uradc by encasing the posts in a material <br />consistent with the sign and where the base width dimension is a minimum <br />of 10% up to and incluclinti 50% of the urcatest width of the siun. <br />(10) Monument Siy.ns One monument sien. limited to two (2) faces is allowed <br />per frontage nor property, with a maximum of two (2). The areas of sign <br />base, the supporting bjckcround structure, and the sign et^nv shall he <br />combined for determininu the total smiare fLH)lat’e and the height of the <br />monument siun. <br />a* The total allowable square footage shall not exceed 100 square feet <br />per side. The base and supporting material .shall constitute at least <br />25 percent of the total square footauc. <br />b. The ba.s e width dimension is 50°'b or more of the ureatest width of <br />the sign. <br />c. The sittn copy area shall have a minimum clearance of 20 inches <br />above >^routul level. <br />d.
