MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />Monday, November 17,2003 <br />6:00 o’clock p.m. <br />(#14) #03-2964 BRUCE AND KRIS PADDOCK, 3250 FOX STREET <br />PRELIMINARY PLAT, Continued <br />Ms. Maass requested that the trees near the driveway be preserved to ensure adequate <br />buffer. <br />Gaf&on stated that the use of light equipment should not impact those trees. <br />Gronberg stated that he would be willing to work with the Maass’ to locate an acceptable <br />place to daylight the drain. <br />As somewhat historically significant, Hawn asked if the existing home could be preserved <br />and relocated. <br />Stickney stated that if someone were inclined to do so, they could relocate the house in <br />sections. <br />Acting Chair Mabusth asked if the applicants were interested in pursuing septic scv'cr. <br />Stickney indicated that this could be an option, not too far off in the future. <br />Gronberg acknowledged that this could potentially make their properties more valuable; <br />however, they were not interested in delaying the project in the hopes that it will come <br />soon. <br />Gafiron asked if Public Works Director Gappa had passed along any comment on City <br />sewer. <br />With a stub at the end of Oxford, Waataja stated that costs could be shared with the church. <br />She stated that she would follow-up with Gappa prior to the City Council meeting. <br />Gaffron pointed out that the Little Orchard residents were amenable to protect the bluffs <br />area and retain the natural look of their shoreline. He encouraged the applicants to maintain <br />the natural look of their shoreline, in order to avoid the mowed grass shoreline, in the 0-75’ <br />zone. <br />Stickney reiterated that they ’ve attempted to place restrictive tree covenants within their <br />policy to do this. <br />Hawn moved. Acting Chair Mabusth seconded, to recommend approval of <br />Application #03-2964, Bruce and Kris Paddock and George W. Stickney, 3250 Fox <br />Street, granting preliminary plat approval with the following stipulations: <br />1. Acquisitiou/Implcmcnta^n of recommendations by the City Engineer prior to <br />Council. <br />PAGE 36 of 41 k
