February 23,2004 <br />7:00 o’clock p.m. <br />(MAYOR/CITYCOVNCIL REPORT, Continued) <br />With regard to the turnback on Highway 12, White encouraged the Council to identify the <br />current features, via an inventory, that would be worth preserving once the outcome of the <br />project is complete. He suggested holding 1-2 community vision town meetings for the <br />corridor. <br />Murphy concurred, stating that the City needs to inventory where they are and where they <br />wish to be at the completion of the project. He suggested that a public process would be <br />appropnate. <br />Gaffron stated that the bowling alley application in Navarre was put on hold at the request <br />of Mr. Keaveny until the status of the liquor license can be resolved. <br />Moorse stated that a public hearing was scheduled for March 22"**, 2004, to discuss the <br />liquor license. <br />Murphy asked if staff had received any response from Mr. Thompson. <br />Gappa stated that there had not been a response yet; however, he was expected in town the <br />end of March. <br />Mayor Peterson recognized the Orono Finance Department, under the leadership of Mr. <br />Kuehn, for their Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. <br />PUBLIC SERVICE DIRECTOR’S REPORT <br />*11. SCHEDULED ASSESSMENT HEARING - WEST FARM SEWER <br />PROJECT - RESOLUTION NO. 5120 and 5121 <br />Murphy moved, McMillan seconded, to approve RESOLUTION NO. 5120 declaring <br />the cost to be assessed and ordering preparation of proposed assessment for the W'est <br />Farm Sanitary’ Sewer Project.
