[XCE ARENA LEVY.] <br />(a) Each vear» an independent ichool district operatino and <br />maintaining an ice arena# may levy for the net operational costs <br />of the ice arena. The levy may not exceed the net actual costs <br />of operation of the arena for the previous‘year. Net actual <br />costa are defined aa operatino coats less any operating revenues. <br />(bt Any school district operating and maintaining an ice <br />arena mustdemonstrate to the satisfaction of the office of <br />monitoring in the department of education that the district will <br />offer egual sports opportunities for male and female students to <br />me its ice arena, particularly in areas of access to prime <br />practice time, team support, and providing -junior varsity and <br />younger level teams for girls* ice sports and ice sports <br />offerings. <br />Sec. 27. [DEPARTMENT STUDY.1 <br />Subdivision 1. [WORK WITH DISTRICTS.] The department of <br />education shall work with school districts to determine the <br />required educational services and costs of the services needed <br />to establish the allowances in sections 5 tr 8. The department <br />establish a representative sample of districts to incxude in <br />the research.
